Guide to the Independent Hotel Show 2015

With less than 24 hours until the doors open to the Independent Hotel Show 2015, preparation is almost complete and hotelier’s aspirations are higher than ever. After exhibiting every year since it started, we’ve adopted a savvy technique to making the most out of our time there.  Each year the show boasts a full line up of industry talks and seminars hosted by some of the most influential hoteliers and practitioners within the industry. In order to enable hoteliers to make the most of the show, we’ve short-listed the top four seminars to give you some food for thought and the ones we think you should look out for.

Tuesday 20th October

Fully Booked: Dream or Reality (11 – 11.45)

Without being biased, our own CEO and Founder, Tom Beasley is guest speaking at the discussion which looks to address solutions to maintaining high occupancy all year round. Chaired by Simon Rhatigan, MD of Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants, key speakers include James Lohan, Founder of Mr and Mrs Smith and Petra Clayton, Owner and MD of Custard Comms. It’s set to be full of mindful solutions to feed your imagination and inspire hoteliers with a whole range of ideas.

Hotel Evolution (16 – 16.45)

Hosted by Editor-in-Chief of The Hotel Culture, Imran Hussain, the seminar looks to tackle the ever changing industry and identify ways hoteliers can adapt their businesses to cope with the demands of the modern traveller. Key speakers include Jules Pearson (Head of Comms and PR at The Hoxton).

Wednesday 21st October

Make Your Restaurant a Destination (13.30 – 14.15)

With key guest speaker Rick Stein, this seminar will be looking to explore what makes a great destination restaurant and cannot be missed. If Rick Stein wasn’t enough to get you signed up, Chef and Restaurateur Brian Turner and General Manager of South Lodge David Connell will also be offering their ideas.

#ProSocial (15.30 – 16.30)

We love social media and if it is used proficiently, the possibilities and benefits of it are endless. Many practitioners are still struggling to make light of a hotels social situation and this seminar focuses on how to set and deliver a social strategy which fits with your brand. Chaired by Richard Fraiman from the Good Food Guide, key speakers include Jules Pearson (Co-founder and Editor of London on the Inside).
